This section is dedicated to turning this:
Into this:
The LameStation can be thought of as divided into six major sections, that is power, core, serial, audio, control, and display.
- Power - This prepares and distributes power from the battery or adapter to be consumed by the devices on the board.
- Core - This is the brain of the LS; the Propeller is the computer on which the LameStation is built.
- Serial - This is a communication system by which new software can be loaded onto the device.
- Control - The buttons and joystick that provide all user input.
- Audio - The system that converts the digital output from the microcontroller to a smooth audio waveform, then amplifies it and drives a speaker or headphones.
- Display - The entire graphics subsystem up to and including the LCD.
Electronics assembly is like surgery
If you make a mistake, your LamePatient could die. Check twice, and solder once!
